Women’s Retreat Packing List
-
Bedding: A sleeping bag & pillow (or sheets & a blanket). Most of the camps’ beds are singles, so unless otherwise informed, plan on bringing bedding for a single bed. Bring extra bedding just in case since some rooms may be chillier than others, depending on location in the buildings.
-
NO electric heaters! The building is old and space heaters pose a fire hazard!
-
Towels: Guests should bring their own towels and washcloths, all toiletries including soap & shampoo.
-
Flashlight: To keep the environment peaceful and maintain a natural ambience, there is minimal outdoor lighting, so please bring a flashlight to help you navigate across the property at night.
-
Water Bottle/Coffee Mug: Wabanna provides drinking fountains and water stations to fill water bottles. To reduce the usage of plastic cups, they suggest guests bring a water bottle that can be refilled during the retreat. Disposable cups are available for those without water bottles.
-
There will be hot beverage service available all day on Saturday.
-
You may bring soft drinks in cans or plastic bottles.
-
Favorite board or card game for scheduled Game Night activities.
-
A checkbook, credit card or cash for the craft fair. (Though please be aware that the only locked area will be the vehicle you came in.)
-
For writing workshop: Please bring a pen or other writing utensil and, if you like, a favorite journal. Some paper will be available in your folder.
-
For stargazing, you may want to bring a pair of binoculars if you have them.
-
Bring hat, gloves, warm socks, leg warmers and a warm jacket if you want to join us for the campfire Saturday evening or star gazing. Temperatures are predicted to be 45-50 during the day and 30-40 at night.
-
You are encouraged to bring a favorite poem, art, item, memento, or something related to connections to share during the Sunday worship
Suggested Items to Make Your Stay More Comfortable:
-
Slippers or warm socks (the Lodge has wooden floors that can be cold).
-
Flip flops or shower shoes since the bathrooms are communal.
-
A camping chair; there are plenty of places you may want to sit and look out at the water. You may also want a chair if you plan to attend the bonfire on Saturday night (benches are available).
-
A camera; there are beautiful sunrises and sunsets at Wabanna, and lots of lovely water views!
-
A journal or other favorite book; this is a great place to sit, read & reflect!
-
Earplugs / eye mask for those sensitive to sound and light at night.
