UUCC Women's Retreat

Join us at Wabanna Camp and Conference Center again for our 6th Annual Women's Retreat! Situated right on the Chesapeake Bay, the facility offers a beautiful natural setting that is perfect for creating the "getting away" experience, while being less than an hour's drive from UUCC.

Some things to keep in mind about this facility:

1. There are no individual rooms - every room sleeps 2-4 women. When you register please specify if you have preferences regarding who is your room.

2. Rooms are on the second floor of the Lodge with only staircase access. If you require ground floor accommodations, you will be assigned a bottom bunk in the dormitory. Please note this when you register.

3. Similarly, most workshops will be held in rooms that are on the ground level but some may be located on upper or lower levels. Wabanna does not have elevators but there will be plenty of helpful women around!

4. Wabanna Camp and Conference Center is a not-for-profit, non-denominational Christian facility. As such, there are books, pictures, and other items throughout the facility that speak to the Christian faith. This may be uncomfortable for some. Please keep our UU principles in mind as we respect and accept our individual search for truth.

5. Although Wabanna has installed new windows and is making great efforts to update their facility, the main lodge is still an original 1940s building. While this adds to the charm of the facility, please be prepared that it may be chilly and dress accordingly. Please do not bring personal space heaters for your room due to the fire hazard they pose!

6. Bathrooms are communal - there are individual shower and bathroom stalls.

7. Outside food and drink are not allowed unless a guest has a food allergy and may not be able to eat the food prepared by the staff. Meals are served cafeteria style and are vegetarian-friendly. Should you require any food accomodations, please indicate this on the registration form.

8. Please keep alcoholic beverages at home during this retreat - we want everyone to be fully present!
